Improved Entity Resolution for AML using LLMs

We are always interested in connecting with talented young specialists who want to make the world a better place.

Congratulations to Iris Kamsteeg for successfully completing her internship project at Web-IQ!

The focus of this internship project was on enhancing the accuracy of data in the AML-Scan: a service provided by Web-IQ on its Voyager Intelligence Platform. AML-Scan enables users to search for locations and industry sectors, and provides valuable insights into companies' online presence and activities, while also presenting risk indicators for potential money laundering.

AML-Scan collects its information on companies from various sources. Correctly matching information from these sources is crucial in ensuring accuracy in the  AML-Scan’s insights. To achieve this, this internship project explored advanced Entity Resolution techniques that utilise Large Language Models.

Our new found approach not only delivers more accurate results, but also expresses its confidence in those results. This development helps our customers make more informed decisions and improve their investigation process. In addition, the new approach can be applied to other Web-IQ services.

This project was a great learning experience and we are proud of the positive impact it will have on our clients.
