Web-IQ developed an innovative tool during the OSAgE project

After a runtime of over one year, the OSAgE (Open Source Age Estimation) project, funded by Safe Online, has come to an end. Web-IQ had the chance to help develop an innovative technology that can analyse video posts on social media, in order to assess whether the topic of the post is appropriate given the predicted ages of individuals in the video.

This technology takes a many-sided approach to acquire the topic of a social media post, by looking at its text content, video content and audio content. The user defines which topics the innovative technology should monitor, and can set a specific age limit for each. By determining when these topics target minors, we can enhance children's safety on social media platforms, reflecting Web-IQ’s mission.

The OSAgE feature has been put in the hands of several trusted partners for testing and evaluation. Their valuable feedback helps us refine the innovative technology, increasing its potential for contributing to a safer online environment for children.
